What is Restylane® and how does it work?

When injected under your skin’s surface, the Restylane "family" of hyaluronic acid fillers, provides volume and support that:

  • Lifts and removes facial folds and wrinkles
  • Replaces fullness
  • Restores youthful facial contours

Where, on the face, are fillers used to restore facial contours?

Dr. Fisher uses hyaluronic acid fillers, like Restylane, to both lift sagging facial contours and add volume where you desire more fullness. These safe and effective dermal fillers are all FDA-approved for facial enhancement but differ in their molecular density and "best use" site of injection.

Restylane Lyft® is a denser hyaluronic acid gel and is best placed deep in the skin. When Dr. Fisher applies this gel, it provides more volume, support, and “lift” to areas such as the cheeks, jawline, and nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth).

Restylane and now Restylane Defyne are softer gels, making them better suited for adding fullness around the eyes and mouth. Restylane Silk and Restylane Refyne are the finest and most natural feeling fillers for lip volume enhancement and are the fillers that are FDA approved for lip injections in patients 21 and older.

What can I expect after a Restylane treatment?

A Restylane treatment is fast and easy, with a typical session lasting under an hour. Dr. Fisher applies a topical anesthetic 30 minutes before the injection. With added lidocaine in the gel itself, the treatments involve minimal discomfort.

With hyaluronic acid fillers, you can see results instantly with no chance of “overfilling.” The desired correction can be achieved in one session and will last from six months to more than a year, depending on the treatment site.
